OCI Cloud Advisor

While learning more and more about Oracle OCI, I came across the OCI Cloud Advisor.

Navigate to Governance & Administration.

Cloud Advisor provides recommendations about cost management, high availability, performance, and security. Thou security recommendations requires the Cloud-Guard service.

In the overview, there is one pending performance recommendation. I can then drill down to the recommendation in detail.

Oracle suggest that I should “enable performance auto-tuning for boot volumes”.

Oracle can apply this change at once or postpone that activity. Of course, depending on the complexity of the issue. The number of actions will differ. It is not a “one-press-button” solution.

By pressing the link. Oracle informes on why and how?

If I press the “implemented selected” button, Oracle remindes me once more.

“What will this do?

When the auto-tune feature is enabled, your boot volumes use the optimal performance setting based on whether the volume is attached or detached from an instance.”

The Cloud Advisor seems to be a great tool which provides prevention protection, with guided solutions to address all kinds of problems.
